I have lived in Scio Township since 1990, where together with my husband, Larry, we built our careers and raised three children. Our commitment to service extended beyond our own, as we served as Foster Parents, providing support and stability to six young lives during challenging times. 

 

Professionally, I hold a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Eastern Michigan University. Over the span of more than 30 years, I’ve held prominent marketing leadership roles in both public and private companies. Notably, my tenure as Vice President of Customer Experience at Thomson Reuters equipped me with invaluable insights into understanding and enhancing customer satisfaction across operational facets. This experience and the responsibilities inherent in township governance are not dissimilar – listening to residents and optimizing the services provided by our Township are paramount.

 

Over the past four years, our Township has seen politics be put before people. Time after time board meetings go late into the night arguing over controversial topics, where residents ask, “what is being done to improve basic services?” I am committed to fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and trust within the Township board, something which I believe is currently lacking. My goal is to restore public trust, foster fiscal responsibility, and diligently planning for the sustainable growth of our community.

 

Should I have the honor of serving as Clerk, I pledge to uphold the fundamental duties of maintaining accurate records, fortifying financial reporting and operations, and ensuring the integrity of our electoral process.

 

I firmly believe in the power of teamwork and recognize that true success is achieved through collaboration and unity. I eagerly anticipate collaborating with the Board to steer the growth of Scio Township, fostering prosperity in both our commercial corridors and residential neighborhoods, while further enhancing existing programs that contribute to our community’s well-being. I love this community and believe now is the right time to serve Scio Township!
